John Phillips

I started playing guitar when I was 17 in rural Illinois. No lessons. No books. Formed my first cover band my senior year of high school. Played in other bands through college. Stopped playing out when career and family came along but kept playing and learning for myself. Formed a successful cover band in the Chicago suburbs that I played in and ran for several years. Honed my guitar skills and my band management skills. COVID shut down that band in 2020. I relocated to Chattanooga in 2021 and have formed that same band here. I can play rhythm and lead. Expert level on rhythm. Above average skill level on lead. Enjoy playing with likeminded musicians. Have all the sound gear necessary to put on live performances - large and small.
