Sweet Georgia Sound

2017 marks Sweet Georgia Sounds 23rd year of bringing the best of big band, jazz, swing and beyond to the greater Chattanooga region for your listening and dancing pleasure.

Through the years SGS and its family of bands have performed at events from Atlanta to Tullahoma and everywhere in between. SGS has performed at Riverbend, and countless weddings, conventions, parties, and other events. SGS worked with the former Chattanooga Downtown Partnership to establish and produce Swingfest for 8 years. SGS and their related groups have had the honor to have been chosen to perform at several milestone events in the Chattanooga area including: Rock City’s 75th anniversary, the Chattanooga Choo Choo’s 100th anniversary, the Centennial Celebration for the Hamilton County Courthouse, Ruby Falls 85th anniversary of its discovery and on May 7, 2016 the band performed at the Chattanooga Choo Choo as part of a celebration of the 75th anniversary of the recording of the song Chattanooga Choo Choo . In 2016 Sweet Georgia Sound and director Mike LaRoche were honored to be inducted into the Chattanooga Music Hall of Fame.
