Derek Wayne Martin

Derek Wayne Martin has found his niche somewhere between Americana and Indie rock. Joshua Pickard with nooga.com writes that DWM channels "the spirit of artists like Jeff Tweedy and Ryan Adams." It is in this place that DWM seeks to be honest and transparent in all that he writes.

DWM's endeavors include three EP's, 2011's "A Million Miles," 2013's "Hard Times," and his most recent release, 2015's "Ghost Town." He was also a winner multiple times of the Eddie Owen Presents open mic in Duluth, GA, and has been a contender in the Eddie Owen Presents Shootout.

While honing his craft in college and beyond, DWM found a new passion for community. Starting and being heavily involved in a songwriter's workshop in Orlando, FL, he found that the best work is formed within the context of community. Armed with a guitar, a pen, and a few good friends to pour into his work, Derek Wayne Martin is sure to make you feel something.

"I'm hoping that in some city, in some room, there is at least one person who can say, 'Man, I know exactly how that feels.'"
