Paul Byrum

Currently bassist for The Peacock Alley Jazz Group (Dalton, GA).

Paul is a multi-instrumentalist that specializes in performing traditional and Appalachian music on the mountain dulcimer.

Paul is a former Mid-Eastern Regional Dulcimer Champion. Paul’s September 2008 debut CD “Bound for the Promised Land” was released nationally by Hobby Lobby stores. Proceeds from the CD have gone to support mission projects in Africa. In 2009, Paul organized the Bluegrass Bands and Helping Hands efforts to raise funds for charitable organizations in North Georgia. Bluegrass Bands Helping Hands released compilations CD’s in 2009, 2010 and 2011 in addition to organizing concerts featuring national acts. In 2010, Paul started the Woodsongs Coffee House –Dalton Chapter Concert series in affiliation with the Woodsongs Old-time Radio show. The annual winter concert series features local and national touring performers with proceeds benefiting charitable organizations.

Paul has performed in the theatrical productions; Fat Shirley’s “A trailer park opera”, “Smoke on the Mountain”, and “A Christmas Carol”.
