Each March, hundreds of fiddlers and old-time music fans from around the country gather in Chattanooga for the annual Great Southern Old Time Fiddlers' Convention at Lindsay Street Hall.

The history of fiddle gatherings and competitions goes back to the early 1900s in Chattanooga. In fact, the city was at one time the annual epicenter of fiddle players who wanted to make a name for themselves.

A new video released by a group called the Chattanooga Old Fiddlers' Association tells the story of the rise, fall and revival of fiddling conventions in Chattanooga.
