St. Paddy’s Party on the Parkway Raises Nearly $40k for Nonprofits

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (May 29, 2018) – Matt Lewis, owner and operator of The Honest Pint, presented a check for $39,585.33 to Chattanooga Kids on the Block (CKOB) and SoundCorps. The funds were raised through ticket sales at the 5th Annual St. Paddy’s Party on the Parkway music festival held on Patten Parkway on March 17, 2018.

The Chattanooga community came together to celebrate the 5th annual Party on the Parkway festival on Patten Parkway with an outdoor stage, food, merchandise, and beer vendors, and a kid zone with interactive games and crafts. This year the event again featured the Jameson VIP Lounge as well as musical performances from local legends Strung Like a Horse, Danimal Planet, Ashley and the X’s, the Molly Maguires, Slim Pickins, and many others.

“Party on the Parkway just keeps on gaining momentum,” says Mr. Lewis. “For the fifth year, we broke our attendance record, ensuring our ability to offer significant support to Chattanooga's Kids on the Block and SoundCorps. This will help these outstanding organizations increase their great community work.”

Kelly Williams, executive director for CKOB, says, “The support we’ve received from The Honest Pint this year really exceeds all of our expectations. This gift will go a long way in helping us expand our programming, which educates children about difficult subjects through the use of puppets, which equip children with the knowledge they need to stay safe and healthy.”

Stratton Tingle, executive director for SoundCorps, praises The Honest Pint for, “bringing all of these disparate community supporters together to build the best St. Paddy’s party we’ve seen to date. We loved that this year featured an all-local lineup, showcasing that Chattanooga musicians are up to the task of putting on a top-notch festival. These funds will be used to support SoundCorps music programming, which supports local music industry professionals through SongScripts, Sidewalk Stages, Craft Masters, TakeNote, and the new Chattanooga Pitch Sifter local music subscription service.”

The collaborators look forward to continuing the partnership for the 6th Annual St. Paddy’s Party on the Parkway, to be held March 16, 2019. Matt Lewis remarked, “We are focused on continuing to build upon the successes of this event, making it the official St. Patrick’s Day celebration of our region.”
